We the Young People: NYC Votes and the Voter Assistance Advisory Committee Will Host A Youth-Focused Voting Forum

07/24/2019

NYC Votes and the New York City Voter Assistance Advisory Committee (VAAC) will host its first-ever public hearing by, for, and about New York City's young people on Wednesday, August 7th. New Yorkers ages 15 to 25 are invited to testify at the hearing.

The "We the Young People" hearing is intended to uplift the voices of young people from all over the city, giving the city's youth a dedicated space to voice their specific needs and concerns. The NYC Votes Street Team will lead a discussion on how the city can drive voter turnout among young New Yorkers through the NYC Votes voter engagement initiative. All feedback provided will be used to empower future youth voting initiatives.

The hearing will take place in the Joseph A. O'Hare, S.J. Board Room of the NYC Campaign Finance Board’s office in Lower Manhattan, at 100 Church Street, on the 12th Floor, starting promptly at 5:30 p.m. Visit the NYC Votes website to RSVP for this event while space is available.

Contact Olivia Brady at OBrady@nyccfb.info or (212)-409-1788 if you would like to testify. Building security requires all visitors to provide photo identification before entering. Sign language interpretation is available. Please email access@nyccfb.info if you plan to attend the meeting and require sign language interpretation.
